In a major announcement at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, Marvel Studios has unveiled the release dates for the highly anticipated "Avengers Doomsday" and "Avengers Secret Wars" films. "Avengers Doomsday," set to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, will mark the culmination of Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film will be followed by "Avengers Secret Wars" on May 7, 2027, bringing an epic conclusion to the current cinematic era.
The announcement also revealed that the Russo Brothers, who directed "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame," will return to helm both upcoming installments. The MCU has made a surprising casting choice for the iconic villain Dr. Doom, with none other than Robert Downey Jr. taking on the role. This marks Downey Jr.'s return to the MCU after his departure as Iron Man.
